BYD and DJI Jointly Launch Smart In-Car Drone System

The launch of the smart in-car drones’ system, codenamed Lingyuan, was done by BYD and DJI in Shenzhen on Sunday (March 2). The unveiling was accompanied by a launch event.

During the press conference, BYD Group Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu revealed that the “Lingyuan” smart in-car drone system will be integrated across all BYD brands, including Dynasty, Ocean, Fangchengbao, Denza, and Yangwang. The complete set of the “Lingyuan” smart in-car drone system (fast charging version) is sold at 16,000 RMB (around 2220 USD).

BYD Group President Luo Zhenhua mentioned that BYD is the first automaker to mass-produce in-car drones. He further explained that this collaboration not only adds value to new energy vehicles, but also widens the use cases for drones. In the future, DJI and BYD will continue working together to push new boundaries for smart technology in NEVs.

In other news, BYD topped the auto sales chart in China in February. The last data revealed that BYD’s sales in February reached 322800 cars representing a 164% growth compared to the previous year, including 318200 passenger vehicles sold which is a 161.4% increase in comparison to the last year. BYD also sold 67000 passenger cars in overseas market, which was a 187.8% increase from last year.
