Xpeng Huitian’s “Land Aircraft Carrier” flying car, a significant innovation in future transportation, is leading the way into a new era of flying vehicles. This flying car features a split design, consisting of a ground module and a flight module, enabling seamless transitions between land and air. The ground module is designed with a 3-axis, 6-wheel configuration, offering 6×6 all-wheel drive and a four-seat layout that can be driven with a standard C-class license. The flight module, however, requires a professional pilot’s license to operate. It adopts an electric six-rotor, dual-ducted configuration and is equipped with a 270° panoramic cockpit, providing users with an expansive view during flight.
In terms of its powertrain, the “Land Aircraft Carrier” utilizes the first 800V silicon carbide (SiC) range-extending platform, offering a CLTC range of over 1,000 kilometers. It supports both manual and autonomous driving modes, with the latter featuring full-process intelligent flight assistance functions to enhance safety and convenience during flight.
In terms of development progress, the “Land Aircraft Carrier” made its overseas debut at CES 2025 and is scheduled to begin deliveries in 2026, with an expected price tag of no more than 2 million RMB (approximately $280,000 USD). Currently, the flying car has already received over 3,000 pre-orders. Additionally, Xpeng Huitian is constructing a new smart manufacturing base for flying cars, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units, to meet future market demand.
With the continuous maturation of technology and supportive policies, flying cars are expected to achieve commercial operation in china within the next few years, offering people a more convenient and efficient travel experience.
